Vegan beetroot and millet paddies


How to make it:

Put beetroots, millet, flour, dates, veggie broth, garlic, paprika powder and one spoon of coconut oil in the blender. Mix and add water until you get a smooth but sticky consistency. Time for a taste test. Now add sugar and salt to your liking.

Start by boiling your pasta (or base of your choice). While that is boiling, you can begin to fry the paddies. Form little balls of the paddie-dough using your hands, roll them in some flour until the paddie is completely covered in dough. Pop it in the pan and fry it with quite a bit of coconut oil, until they start to go crispy brown from the outside. Turn over to the other side and make sure to not burn them. Once you have fried all of the paddies, you can add them along side the pasta and enjoy your meal.

What you need (for 2 people):

  • 3 betroots (cooked)

  • 300g of puffed millet

  • 50g of flour

  • a pinch of salt & sugar

  • 2 dates

  • 1 tbsp. of veggie broth powder

  • 1 tbsp. of paprika powder

  • 1tsp. of garlic powder

  • a bit of water

  • coconut oil
