Be good to yourself.

We all need to practice way more self love, way more "Me-time" and learn to apprechiate time with ourselves to give our body what it needs.

In our stressful lifes we often work way too much, restrict, try to live up to societies expectations of us and forget about what we want ourselves, or rather - what we need.

To take good care of ourselves, we must go back and take care of the wounded child inside of us. You have to practice going back to your wounded child every day. You have to embrace him or her terderly, like a big brother or a big sister. You have to talk to him, talk to her. And you can write a letter to the Little child in you, of two or three pages, to that you recognize his or her presence, and will do everything you can to heal his or her wounds.  - Thich Nhat Hanh

I have restricted way too much in my life and now I have learned to endulge and enjoy the little things, that make life so freaking juicy.

Here are my tips for an enriched life:

1. EAT CARBS

Our body runs on carbs and I am no fan at all of restricting them in any shape or form.
Carbohydrates are all about energy and are found in foods like fruits, vegetables, breads, pasta, and dairy products. Basically in all the yummy stuff...carbs are used to make glucose, which is your body's main energy source. My fave source of Carbs is pasta. I make it so many times a week, cause its cheap and yummy. (All the wonderful kitchen items in this post were gifted to me by Normann Copenhagen by the way. I love their sleek designs and they make cooking so much more fun.)

2. CHILL A LITTLE

Life can be so stressful and i am also sometimes a little workaholic. But we need to make sure to also enjoy our time. Meet up with a friend, have a glass of wine and just chat. It's ok to reward yourself and it is ok to take time out. Noone can work constantly and you should never put yourself down, if you don't get as much done as you thought you would.

3. READ A BOOK
Reading has something super therapeutic to me and it gives you the chance to dive into a new world. If your life seems a little stressful or doesn't go the way you want it to, the best way to escape for a minute or two, is by reading. I personally love phantasy-stories or even Lifestyle-guides. I will also create a blogpost about my favorite books very soon, so stay tuned for that.

4. BUY YOURSELF SOMETHING NICE

It is so important to treat yourself once in a while. Buy yourself some flowers, a nice top or a piece of cake. You deserve it. I bought myself a lovely bouquet the other day. It is the small things, that brighten up your day and you definitely don't need a man to buy you gifts. Go out and reward yourself.

5. HAVE A DANCE PARTY

I don't have to go out to a club to have a dance party. I have one in my room nearly every other day. Just turn on some of your favorite music and dance around. Its so fun to just let go. Noone is judging or looking and I am having the best time ever shaking my bootie to my favorite playlist.

6. WRITE A DIARY

My diary collection is my holy grail. I have started writing my diary when I was about 7 years old. Now I am 21 and I have a lot of different books filled with memories, emotions and thoughts. It is not only amazing to write your shit down and sort of let go of anger and pain, but also so great and funny to read through old entries and remember exactly how you felt on that certain day.

Do you have any other tips on how you like to treat your soul or body? Let me know.

Namaste,
Hannah
