How do you stay so skinny?


Without a doubt "How do you stay so skinny?" is the most frequently asked question on my instagram. Not only in the comments, but in private messages as well. Today I will finally give you an answer.




"How do you stay so skinny? What kind of workouts do you do? What is your diet? What can i do to get your body?" These kind of questions are reaching me every day. They are coming from girls my age, some are even younger.
We are a generation, who is really focused on their weight. We are all crazy about our looks, especially in the social media community. I am totally counting myself in. Its super hard not to compare yourself in this instagram-world, where you see crazily toned girls with rockhard abs walking along a beautiful coastline and you are sitting at home on your bed eating peanut butter out of a tin. 
But it scares me as well. It scares me, that so many people want to know my weight, want to have my body, wanting to change, because they are not happy with themselves. I am hoping to be an inspiration for others to aspire a happy healthy lifestyle, but i feel like some of them take it a step too far. I want you all to know, that I am still struggling with gaining weight. I have actually had a doctors appointment, where i was told my bodyfat was way to low and not healthy for a woman my age. I am trying to gain more fat right now and am not at a perfect place myself yet, I don't even have a period. Another sign that i am not fully recovered yet. And then there are so many girls aspiring that unhealthy weight...I am currently trying to gain weight. So I am incorporating a lot of healthy fats, such as nuts or avocado. I know this is not the answer you wanted to hear, but I can give you a few tips, that i am using as well in my daily life to feel good and stay healthy and fit. 

  1. Listen to your body. You have probably heard that a thousand times, but it is true. When you are hungry, you should never deprive yourself of nutrients. If your tummy is growling - go eat something. Even if it is just a small snack, like an apple. Go eat! And if you feel full, don't feel the need to finish everything. It is ok to stop, when your body is telling you to.
  2. Make sure you get your vitamins. Try to eat a balanced diet. Try incorporating fruits and veggies, as well as carbs, protein and healthy fats. I am not a nutritionist, so if you want to make sure you are at a healthy state at the moment - go and get a blood test done.
  3. Check your BMI. Obviously a Bodymassindex is not telling everything, but it gives you a good idea wether you are weighing to much, to little, or just right. 
  4. Don't focus on the calories. Counting calories can make you go crazy really quickly. Try focusing on the way your body feels instead. If you feel comfortable you are probably at the right weight for your body. Focus on including nutritious whole foods and you will feel great. 
Please try to stop putting yourself down. You are a beautiful soul and you are pretty, just as you are. I am often questioning myself as well, but we should all try to lift each other up instead of putting us down. Everyone is a gift to this planet and you should try to embrace your wonderful uniqueness.

  1. Oh I'm sorry you are having difficulties at the moment. It is so scary that a lot of people aren't happy with their body image now days, we should all learn to be happy with what we have! I like the tip you have about listening to your body, it may not be food but I need to learn to do that with water, I don't drink enough at all! xx
