DIY Donuts



On cold dark winter nights you just need something sweet and comforting. At least I do. Here is my recipe for vegan, oven baked donuts.





What you do:
  • Preheat the oven to 200°C
  • Mix the sugar, flour and baking powder along with a sprinkle of salt, cinnamon and nutmeg using a blender. I am loving my vitamix.
  • Add the almond milk (or other non-dairy milk) and applesauce, mix on a higher setting until everything becomes nice and smooth.
  • Pour the batter into the donut tray (don't fill it up too much, they will expand)
  • Bake in the oven for around 15 minutes until the donuts become lightly browned.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool down.
  • Just have fun with decorating your donuts. I love using vanilla or chocolate icing, topped with coconut flakes or peanuts.
  • When all the donuts are done, move the tray into the fridge for the toppings to set.
  • Enjoy :)
