Time for a detox.

Werbung - Do you feel tired a lot? Do you feel unmotivated, sad and maybe even a little sick? Does your skin break out and your hair looks dull and thin? Maybe it's time for a detox. (This is a sponsored post)

You can detoxify your life at any time in such different ways. Long-term exposure to toxins (environmental pollutants, cancer-causing chemicals, preservatives and pesticides) affects our metabolism, behavior, immune system, and leads to disease. Most of the time, we don't even notice it and all these negative particles keep building up. That also affects our mood and energy, which is pulling us down even more. I love a good detox and there are so many different ways of how you can get one step closer to a happy healthy life. Here are my 5 favorite ways to detox:

1. Start with water.

Water detox is super simple but really effective. Water carries nutrients to our cells, flushes our bodies of wastes, and keeps our kidneys healthy. Our body basically thrives of water. It’s also a wonderful beauty treatment, not just ON your skin, but IN it! The right amount of hydration in your skin cells cause them to plump up nicely and you will look younger for longer. So maybe just get yourself a cute water bottle and take it with you, motivating you to have a sip more often. You can slowly get used to your new drinking habits and then build it up. (Its also fun to add fruit or herbs to your water, if you don't like the plain taste.) If you want to know, how much water you should be consuming, you can calculate your perfect amount here.

2. Do Yoga.

I personally practice yoga everyday and I am currently even going to a yoga school to become a yoga teacher. Yoga and meditation always helps me to calm down and detoxify my body of bad energy and negative thoughts. It's also important to detox your mind once in a while. Our mental health is just as important as our physical condition. I have a whole blogpost dedicated to how to get started doing yoga here. Even single poses can cleanse your body and make your soul feel good. The dancer pose is one of my favorites. It will open up the chest, stretch the back and therefore releases stagnation and congestion in the body, plus it also activates your metabolism.

3. Change your skincare.

Your skincare should be just as important to you, as your diet is. I am only using natural organic brands, that are completely vegan and free of any antioxidants.
One of my favorite brands is Yves Rocher*, who kindly sponsored this blogpost.  I am currently using Elixir Jeunesse, which is mainly focused on protecting our skin from pollution and giving it the detox it really needs. When I look at the ingredients of my skincare, I always make sure its free of parabens and silicones. Also I love, when companies focus on plants and natural remedies to care for our skin. The fact, that Yves Rocher uses Aphloia (which is a green plant from Madagascar, that helps with protecting and repairing our skin) as their main ingredient for their new line, made me love it even more.
Although I am pretty sold on their new line, I don't use all of the products every single day. I feel like we should never put too much product on our skin anyway.

I use their daily moisturizer in the morning, to refresh my face, give it the hydration it needs and protect it from daily pollution. In the evening I like to wash off the dirt of the day, that has been clogging my pores with their cleanser and after my face is nice and clean, I use the night cream to regenerate my skin over night and I wake up with plump fresh skin.

The other products I really just use once in a while. They have a mask, wich deeply moisturizes the skin and smoothes it out. I love using it, when I have a pamper night or a cozy evening on the couch. And t
hen there are two magical items in the collection, that I use, when I need to look awake and fresh in the morning. There is a serum and a roll-on, that I love using under my eyes to treat swollen eyebags, dark circles or just any kind of tiredness at all. They can even plump up the skin, so little wrinkles will disappear. If you ever have an important date, you know now to pull out these two babies.

4. Eat healthy.

I am not a nutritionist and there a many different diets, that work for different people. I love to incorporate magical superfoods, that are an unprocessed gift of mother nature. My top 5 superfoods are:
Blueberries: filled with fiber, vitamin C, and cancer-fighting compounds.
Oatmeal: High in fiber, antioxidants, and tons of other nutrients, it can help to lower cholesterol levels, aid in digestion, and even improve metabolism.
Broccoli: packed with vitamins, minerals, disease-fighting compounds, contains super high levels of vitamin C and folate.
Spinach: Antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, and vitamins that promote vision and bone health.
Apples: a great source of fibre, apples have been associated with reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, certain cancers, diabetes, and asthma.

5. Balance your chakras.

What even is a chakra, you may ask? Its basically a wheel of energy. We have seven main chakras in our bodies and if one of them is blocked or out of balance, this can often lead to illness and problems within the body as well as a messy mind.
Root Chakra, Sacral Chakra, Solar Plexus Chakra, Heart Chakra, Throat Chakra, Third Eye Chakra and Crown Chakra are fueling our whole body with energy. You can focus on your chakras while, meditating, do a deep chakra cleanse through a reiki session, using healing crystals to remove bad energy or even write down or paint your issues and problems to let go of them.

What is your favorite way to detox and how do you think about Yves Rocher's new skincare line? I would love to chat to you about it and exchange our detox routines.
