Eating in Berlin: Bekarei

What: Bekarei
Where: Dunckerstraße 23, 10437 Berlin

Today Lea and I went to Bekarei for lunch. This little cafe makes you feel like you travelled back in time. It is so retro - I couldn't believe it. And all the pieces look incredibly authentic. The wallpaper, furniture and decor pieces look like a 70s movie. You can get amazing breakfasts from all over the world, little pastries, sandwiches and yummy cakes.

We chose a whole bunch of little goodies and shared them all. We started of with a hot panini each. They were crunchy and delicious. Everything is freshly made and the small team makes it feel really welcoming and cozy. Then we had some star pastries filled with sweet cream cheese, some puff pastries filled with courgette and goat cheese and some nut-chocolate-muffins. The nutty muffins were our over all favorite. We had 2 each :D I could have eaten 100 of them. It's hard to describe the flavor. They tasted super soft and moist and just super chocolaty with the right amount of crunchy nuts. Just perfect!

Then we finished of with some hot Cappuccino and just relaxed in the cozy and vintage atmosphere.
I would recommend Bekarei to everyone, who is a fan of retro interior and likes to try new pastries, that you won't find at your ordinary bakery. It is a small family business and you can really feel, that they prepare every little bit with lots of love.
