Laser hair removal.

Today I want to talk about my laser hair removal experience with Avederma Berlin.

Avederma is one of the leading providers of aesthetic skin treatments. They offer laser hair removal, pigment correction, facelifting without surgery, cellulite and wrinkle treatments, anti-aging therapy and permanent makeup as well as microblading.

I was on the hunt for a great place to get my laser-hair removal done for a while and finally chose Avederma to go through with the procedure.

The team is super friendly and I loved the atmosphere in the clinic from the start. Because I always updated you all on my instagram about my hair-removal-journey, I got a ton of questions about it and now I am finally doing this post to answer them all:

Is It Permanent?
Laser hair removal is permanent hair reduction, not permanent hair removal. Normally it should definitely keep your hairy bits in check for a while but the laser targets and destroys only your current hair follicles, but new follicles can develop thanks to hormonal changes or shifts in weight.

What Are the Risks?
The only real risk with the treatment is eye damage. That is why you have to wear some funny glasses to protect yourself during the treatment.

Does It Hurt?
I think it really depends on your pain tolerance and is different with everyone. For me it does really hurt, when they do my armpits and bikini-section. My legs are pretty tolerant and it doesn't hurt at all. But it is definitely bearable. Usually it doesn't take long. (About 2min for each armpit and maybe 15min for legs and bikini-section. ) I am not sure how to describe the pain to you...it feels like a pinch with a needle, I guess.

Does it work for anyone?
Laser hair removal works on almost every skin type. It works best on very pale people with dark hair. But they told me as soon as you have some kind of pigment in your hair follicle, it does work. The thicker your hair is, the easier the laser can detect and destroy them.

How often do i need to go?
This also totally depends on your hair. I already went about 6 times and my hair is nearly gone. Obviously there are small patches coming back, but thats why I am having follow-up appointments every 6-8weeks now. At the beginning you come back every 4 weeks for the perfect results.

When is the perfect time to start?
You should probably start in autumn or winter. The laser is not harming the skin, but it can cause the skin to burn easy, when you go tan in the summer. To avoid that you should not directly get a laser treatment before you go on holiday.

Is it expensive?
It is definitely an investment. Prices vary from clinic to clinic, but with a professional, high quality clinic it will never be a bargain. You can check the prices for Avederma here. I can only recommend them.
