Eating in Berlin: Monti

Unbezahlte Werbung - Our experience at Monti

What: Monti Caffe Bar
Where: Simon-Dach-str. 3

Today my boyfriend and I checked out the lovely italian cafe and bar: Monti. It's located in the young and hip area "Friedrichshain" in Berlin.
The cozy spot looks already really comfortable and welcoming from far away. The small location, which is always crowded on weekends, will give you some "living room-vibes" and is decorated with fresh flowers, wooden tables and beautiful modern art pieces on the walls.
The electronic background music and bare lightbulbs contribute to the rather industrial style of Monti.

Once you sit down, you can either flip through some magazines and art books lying around or already check out the yummy cake selection on display.
The Cafe offers a huge variety of different breakfast menus, ranging from your typical omelette, over bread with cheese all the way to scrambled eggs in several combinations. They also have pasta and salads on offer, as well as yummy paninis. Everything is home cooked and made from fresh ingredients.

We started our brunch with some hot chocolate for Till and a ginger-lemon tea with honey for me. Both were absolutely delicious.

For our mains Till had a breakfast-plate with different kinds of cheese, salad, avocado, fruit and some cooked veggies. Basically all you can wish for on one single plate. And I had a fruity salad with cheese and olives, which was also a really amazing combo and tasted marvelous. To go along with the freshly made meals we had to have our daily coffee. I am telling you - italian people know how to make their coffee right! :)

Because I had spotted the cakes right when we entered, I just couldn't say no to a slice. We tried the apple-cake and the rhubarb-crumble. All cakes are homemade and honestly amazing.

We really enjoyed our stay a lot and would totally recommend to check Monti out. Maybe go during the week though - because it's so small, it can get really crowded.
