Eating in Berlin: East and Eden

What: East and Eden
Where: Torstraße 141, 10119 Berlin

If you are craving some scandinavian vibes "East and Eden" is the place to go to in Berlin. Run by the super friendly danish owners Ulla Skaaning Mathiesen and Orla Damgaard, the cozy cafe is located right next to "Rosenthaler Platz" in the middle of Berlin.
Is it just me, or do scandinavian people have the perfect eye for interior? Well, at least they set a prime example with this cute little place.
Some rustic pieces paired with really unique elements (like the cool gigantic lamp on the ceiling) and cozy seating areas make a perfect mix. You feel cozy and relaxed, but also artsy and inspired at the same time. Although I came here with my friend Farina, just to relax and chat, I would totally recommend this place for a creative work-session as well. AND if you are a lover of handmade pottery, you can also find a small selection for sale in the cafe.

As always I found it very hard to choose, what to order. In the end Farina went for Ullas Favorite, which she recommended to us: The "green brunch - Eden sandwich", which is made of avocado, a mini omelette and tomato. And I got the "Popeye's omelette", which is made of eggs, cheese, spinach, sour creme, served with some bread and butter. For drinks i obviously went with a big cafe latte and Farina had a yummy homemade juice. I always need a little desert, so I had a freshly baked cinnamon roll at the end.
You can really taste that the food is homemade with fresh ingredients and its super yum. Just perfect for a a brunch with friends, or to just have an afternoon tea or coffee session with some sweet snacks. (I also saw the delicious banana bread, but i was just too full to try that one as well - there is always a next time :D) Although the cafe works with self service, I felt really looked after and welcomed at East and Eden. The staff is super nice and will help you out with all your needs. They will usually communicate with their guests in english, but don't worry - they also know their german.

Namaste,
Hannah
